N423: Carved Coral Flower Necklace

I bought this necklace because of the labor and skill required to carve each of the 73 coral beads into flowers with petals in high relief, and to match them on each side as they graduate from the largest bead in the center to the smallest pair on each end. All beads are natural color and were carved in the 1930’s. This necklace is a lovely today as it was 90 years ago.

Carved coral flowers, orange with white mottling; corals measure 5.15mm on ends to 13.18mm in the center; 17 and ½ inches long; strung without knots.
