P1062: Carved Jadeite Jade, White Gold, Diamond Pendant

High relief carving of oriental symbols…fishes, trees and flowers  with the lovely greyish green jadeite jade as background.  Jade is the most important gemstone in Chinese culture.  Many commercial carvings are available for tourists when they travel to that part of the world. This jade however is a deeply recessed carving on both sides so the viewer can easily see the flora, fauna and ocean creates in high relief.  The large diamond bail atop dresses the jade for evening wear.

Carved natural jadeite jade, 1.5 inches long by 1 and 1/16^th inches wide and from 6mm to 8mm thick; carved on both sides; greyish green with streaks of deeper green; 14k white gold ornament atop with 29 round single cut, European cut and round brilliant cut diamonds, total weight about .95 carat.
