R229: Amethyst, 14k White gold and Diamond Ring

The beauty of this classic 1970’s right hand cocktail ring lies in the undulating design of the tapered baguette diamonds as they flow around the center tear drop amethyst, the quality of those diamonds, and the precision with which they were cut and set, to create almost perfect symmetry around the center stone. In the decades when these rings were popular, from 1955 through the 1990’s, this ring would have been reserved for a nice evening event. In 2020, my clients may wear this ring during the day and transition it to the most casual evening. This is a wonderful example of this style of cocktail ring. A simple toothbrush, hot water and soap will keep this ring looking as gorgeous as the day it is purchased.

14k white gold; 42 tapered baguette diamonds total weight about 2.35 carats; F color, VS-1 clarity; pear shape brilliant amethyst quartz, measuring about 14.8mm by 8.98mm by 6.23mm deep, weight about carats; 6.5 grams.
