N293: AQUAMARINE, DIAMOND and WHITE GOLD PENDANT NECKLACE
Largely forgotten because of the popularity of the much less expensive blue topaz, fine quality aquamarines have been important colored gemstones since ancient Greece and Rome and especially in the 20th century from about 1915 through 2000. This aqua is a deep blue, one of the finest aquas I have seen in many years. It is almost flawless internally and beautifully cut. The designer surrounded it with very high quality small round diamonds. To compliment the gemstones, the designer chose 18k white gold to make the pendant and for the chain. This is a classic design using very high quality gemstones and excellent setting quality.
Oval faceted deep blue aquamarine, weight about 2.78 carats; 28 round diamonds, total weight about .15 carat; 18k white gold chain, 17 inches long, lobster claw clasp.
